Bunu gerçekten göremiyor musun?" Knulp yine yürümeye başladı. Yorgunluktan sallanıyordu; ama bunu hiç duyumsamıyordu. İçi adamakıllı ferahlamıştı ve Tanrı'nın söylediği şeylerin hepsine minnet duyarak hak veriyordu. "Bak!" dedi Tanrı, "ben seni olduğundan başka türlü kullanamazdım. Sen benim adıma gezip durdun, benim adıma bir yerde oturan insanlara bir parçacık özgürlük özlemi götürdün, benim adıma çılgınlıklar yaptın ve kendinle alay ettirdin; sende benimle alay edildi; sende ben sevildim. Sen benim çocuğumsun, kardeşimsin, benim bir parçamsın. Sen hiçbir şeyi bensiz tatmadın, ...
